Experience the quiet magic of Nordic jazz, folk, and blues as this acclaimed Danish duo brings their spellbinding music to life on stage.

Svaneborg Kardyb, comprising Nikolaj Svaneborg (keys) and Jonas Kardyb (drums), crafts a sound that’s both intimate and expansive, blending Nordic jazz, folk traditions, and bluesy Americana. Though they first met in Aalborg in 2013, their musical partnership truly began six years later in Aarhus, marked by an almost telepathic connection and a shared instinct for composing in the moment.

Their approach is rooted in simplicity and attentiveness: two musicians listening deeply to each other, allowing melodies to emerge organically. Nikolaj’s soft, textured piano style was shaped by childhood improvisations on a muted upright, while Jonas brings a rhythmic sensibility honed through years of playing folk and blues without drums. Together, they create music that transcends genre and geography.

Inspired by artists like Jan Johansson and Hania Rani, and drawn to the exploratory spirit of Gondwana Records, the duo released their third album Over Tage in 2022, followed by Superkilen in 2024. Their live shows are immersive and communal—often inviting audiences to whistle along, echoing the Danish Højskole tradition of collective singing.
